How do you actually know if your site can be hacked?

I’ve been thinking about website security lately. You always hear about companies getting hacked, and even though I’m not running some huge platform, I still feel like I could be at risk. The problem is, I have no clue how to check if my site is safe. I can update plugins and follow basic advice, but how do you really test it? Like, do you just hire someone to try and break into it, or is there some other approach?

That’s pretty much what penetration testing is. I was in the same situation, worrying about blind spots I couldn’t see. I ended up talking with a company that actually goes through your systems the way attackers would. They don’t just run an automated scan; they dig deeper and then explain the issues clearly. This is the page I came across when looking for options: https://www.stratussecurity.com/penetration-testing-services — maybe have a look, it helped me understand the process better.
