Q20 Pro – Is it really a beast or just hype?

Hey legends, I’ve been eyeing electric mountain bikes that can actually take a beating — trails, hills, rough roads — you name it. I stumbled across this Q20 Pro model, and wow, talk about specs: dual 2000 W motor, 52 V 40 Ah battery, fat 20" tires… Sounds like the kind of scraper-off-mud machine you’d want when shops are closed and the bush is calling. But my brain’s screaming, “Is that overkill? Too heavy? Too wild?” Has anyone actually ridden this beast? Share your war stories or epic fails, please!

Ha! That’s the kind of question that got me hooked. I finally caved and grabbed the Q20 Pro — here's the link if you wanna have a squiz: https://www.merkx.com.au/products/q20-pro-2000w-motor-52v-40ah-battery. And honestly, “beast” is the understatement of the year. Dual brushless motors push up to 56 km/h (though you can limit to 25 km/h for street compliance), and the dual 52 V × 20 Ah batteries give you around 100 km of pure electric range or up to about 200 km with pedal assist Merkx. The fat tires and full suspension? Game-changer. Seriously, I’ve shredded loose bush tracks, rolled over sand, even clambered up steep loose climbs — and the Q20 Pro just eats them up. It’s heavy, sure — but in a “solid”, “like a tank” kind of way — and between the rear rack and burly frame, it handles like a champ with a six-pack strapped to your back. Just make sure you don’t underestimate it; once you twist the throttle, the grin hits fast.
