Welcome to Oldfield Poll Herefords

Oldfield Poll Hereford Stud was formed in 1984, after a commercial herd was established in 1968. We are located at Emerald Hill on the North West Plains approximately 22km NW of Gunnedah in New South Wales. Situated in some of the best all round farming and fattening country in Australia, our cattle and farming operation runs on 3000 acres.

We operate a herd base of 200 registered poll Hereford females, drawn from leading Australia/New Zealand and North American genetics. Influential sires include champions such as Allendale Octagonal, Davis 80U Facsimile 14X (AI), Doonbiddie Rambo T1 (ET), Kenevel Whiplash T37, Heatherdale Tyson V200, Markowen Crusader Y2 and Cannawigra Windstorm X109. We are using Bowen Tornado Z260 (AI) (ET), The Ranch Brigadier B21 and Tahlan Centrefold C34. The combination of these sires has created consistency in our female line and given our bulls an eveness in performance traits. So whichever bull you purchase from Oldfield, you will gain similar performance genetics.

Our rigorous focus on structural soundness, calving ease and superior muscle growth gives you an even line of powerful bulls from which to choose. All the bulls are performance recorded, vaccinated, vet certified and semen tested (90%⁺ in the past three years' semen morphology). Oldfield Dynamite! D43 is the best bull we have bred in 25 years of stud breeding. At 20 months of age, Dynamite weighed 975kgs and scanned an EMA of 130 square cms. A son of Bowen Tornado Z260 (ET) and Oldfield Lioness W63, we think he is a leading bull for the Hereford breed. Visitors to our stud have consistently picked Dynamite out as the bull they'd like to take home and he roused alot of interest at Sydney Royal too. Dynamite will join our sire battery for the 2010 joining season as we want his outstanding carcase traits throughout our herd. Semen in Dynamite is available and at commercial quantities if desired. Oldfield Diocletian D98 D.O.B. 04/08/2008

Our thanks go to the Gibbons family of Rydal, NSW, for purchasing Oldfield Diocletian D98 at Sydney Royal 2010. D98 is a son of Cannawigra Windstorm X109 and Oldfield Princess A74. He weighed 895kgs on 28/03/2010. D98 has excellent growth for age, with beautiful cosmetics and a superior carcase. We wish the Gibbons family all the best using him. Photo taken on 23/03/2010.
